Paper Trail Process
How we assemble, quality-check, and ship each balance-recording kit from our Chuncheon workshop.
Every kit passes through six stages before it leaves Office 8 on Sample-ro. We do not outsource assembly or print runs to third-party fulfilment centres. When you open the box, the person who folded your ledger pages may be the same person who answers your follow-up email.
This page documents what happens between your order confirmation and the courier pickup — so you know exactly what preparation your kit receives.
Paper Selection and Cutting
Min-seo inspects each paper batch for weight consistency and acidity level. Sheets are cut to A5 size on a guillotine and left to acclimate to workshop humidity for 24 hours before printing.
Column Printing
Column headers are printed on a monochrome press using pigment-based ink. Each sheet is checked against a master template for alignment. Misprints are recycled; they never enter a kit.
Page Numbering
Ji-won numbers every page by hand in the bottom margin using archival ink. Numbers are verified against the order specification — a 120-page kit must have pages 1 through 120 with no duplicates or skips.
Binding and Cover Assembly
Pages are sewn with lay-flat thread binding and glued into a linen-textured hardcover. The spine receives foil-stamped text if custom lettering was ordered. The binding is stress-tested by opening the ledger flat 20 times.
Accessory Packing
Address label sheets, the pocket folder, archival pen, and cotton storage sleeve are packed separately and inserted after binding. Yuna photographs the completed kit for the client's order record.
Final Inspection and Shipping
A checklist covers page count, pen ink flow, label perforation quality, and cover alignment. Once passed, the kit is wrapped in acid-free tissue, placed in a rigid mailer, and booked with a domestic courier. Tracking is emailed within two hours of pickup.
